Jan and Gary moved to Ely in 1966, raised their 5 children in Ely and have lived on Shagawa Lake since 1968. Jan has been working in the real estate profession in the Ely area since 1981. She began her career with D. Krause and Associates and later started Ely Realty. Gary had a 30 year career with Prudential Insurance Company, retired from selling insurance in 1995 and began his real estate career at that time. As previous owners of Ely Realty and BWCA Real Estate, they have had the opportunity to become very knowledgeable about the real estate market in Ely, selling residential homes, lake homes and cabins, vacant land/lakeshore and commercial properties in Ely and the surrounding area. They are thankful for the lasting friendships they have with their sellers and buyers and are pleased to be associated with Bear Island Land Co, Inc. to serve the real estate needs of their present and future clients. They are willing to accommodate the schedules of their clients seven days a week, evenings and week-ends.

Well, here we are the day before Judy and I officially take over our property in Ely, MN. We have come a long way in a short amount of time since that cold, snowy walk up the driveway – I will never forget that and I think about it every time I drive down that driveway! Judy and I would like to thank you for everything you did and continue to do to help us with this dream I have had for along time of owning a true lakehome.
